Palm Beach Combat Hapkido hosted Master
David Rivas for a Ground Survival Seminar and Self Defense Clinic on Friday
April 1st and Saturday April 2nd of 2011 in Wellington,
Florida.
Students learned practical, realistic techniques to defend themselves in everyday situations. The clinic covered a variety of close quarter escapes, joint-locking, and
ground survival techniques. On Saturday, Master Rivas taught, and clearly explained the strategies and tactics
necessary to survive combat on the ground. The Combat Hapkido "Ground Survival"
program is not about wrestling or ground grappling, it is about successfully
fighting back from the most dangerous position in self defense, and quickly
recovering the dominant stand-up position.
