Combat Hapkido Red Belt (3rd Gup) Testing
To receive your red belt at
Palm Beach Combat Hapkido, you will be required to know and demonstrate several
techniques and principals of Combat Hapkido.
To test for your red belt in combat hapkido, you will need to have had a minimum
of
30 hours of training and will be required to demonstrate
20 new techniques (138 total) including:
- Two hands grab one wrist - 3 techniques
- One hand shoulder grab - 3 techniques
- Back collar grab - 3 techniques
- Two hands grab two arms (front, above elbow) - 2 techniques
- Two hands grab two arms (behind, above elbow) - 1 technique
- Two hands grab two shoulders (behind) - 1 technique
- Lapel grab one hand - 3 techniques
- Middle sleeve grab (one hand) - 2 techniques
- Armpit / side grab - 2 techniques
Sample technique from the Brown to Red Belt curriculum:
Lapel grab one hand
Distraction kick or strike, trap uke's hand with your cross hand and grab
his wrist with your same side hand, apply two-way torque (step back into a horse
stance) and take uke down (one guiding finger points to the ground, the other to
uke's face).
